These awnings are not cheap, that is why you should know how to properly care for them. Here are some tips on how to maintain camper awnings.

• If not in use, store your awning properly. You should keep it in a cool dry place, away from insects and rodents. Do not keep it in a damp or humid place because this condition is ideal for the growth and development of mildew and rust. You should also know how to dismantle and roll up the awning. Make sure that you roll the canopy smoothly. If there are wrinkles and bunches, repeat the procedure until the canopy is smooth.
• When installing the awning, make sure that the legs are angled slightly away from the center. This prevents snow or water build-up on the canopy, which can damage your awning. This position also makes it more stable against strong wind, which also prevents damage caused by falling on the ground.
• Always check the parts, especially the supports or legs. If there are minor damages, repair them as soon as possible. For the canopy, you should repair small tears or holes as soon as you can to prevent further damage. You should lubricate the moving parts to ensure efficiency and ease of use.
• Clean the awning regularly especially if you are camping on dusty locations. Use a cleaner that specifically cleans awnings. Wash the awning first with water using a hose and brush off the dirt. Use the cleaner to thoroughly remove the stains.
